Designed by J. H. Dearle in 1895 for Compton Hall in Wolverhampton, Compton is one of the most intricate patterns produced by Morris & Co.
Characterised by stylised foliage and rhythmic symmetry, the design was originally printed using two sets of woodblocks to achieve its complex layering of 28 colours.
In the Spring colourway, this reimagined version introduces a lighter, more expressive palette, with fresh daffodil yellows balanced by accents of indigo, poppy red and warm sunset tones.
